2010 Adult Equitation Day Camp
215-598-7792
Adult camp has
officially become a tradition. This year we are celebrating our 4th
anniversary. We will follow the same format that was set the first
year. The day will begin at 9:00 a.m. with a continental
breakfast. Participants bring something each day to contribute.
Hunter Seat
Equitation will be the discipline taught during the mounted segment of
the daily curriculum. Flat work, jumping, and cross country riding will
all be part of the program.
After the
horses are cared for and put away, lunch will follow. A different menu
will be selected and prepared by the adult campers daily.
Right after
lunch, there will be a topic of discussion followed by a period of
practical application and experience. This year the subjects to be
covered are:
1. horse
identification; ie. markings, whirls, color, etc.
2. the principles of lunging, and how to use a bitting rig
3. bandaging, poulticing, and packing a hoof
4. mane pulling, trimming, & braiding
5. horse care products - what to use & when
Camp will end
at 3:00 with time before, for a swim at the pool and shopping at
the Saddlery at Fox Heath.
Cost: $325.
