The Fox Heath Equitation Day Camp provides an excellent horse mastership program for beginner, intermediate, and advanced riders from age 6 through 16. The camp program is designed to simulate both the responsibilities and pleasures of horse ownership.  Many campers describe their time at our camp as 'the best summer that they have ever had'.

Daily Riding Lessons

An integral component of each day is the mounted Hunter Seat Equitation instruction. Students are directed towards an achievement of skills that will enable them to ride correctly and safely, both cross country and over fences. Campers are divided into riding groups according to their ability and previous experience. Riding activities include lessons, cross country rides, and Thursday Horse Shows. Campers of all levels can participate in the weekly horse shows. The more advanced campers will also be responsible for the show's management.

A Wide Ranging Education

Each camper is assigned a horse or pony at the beginning of a session. The camper will be responsible to taking care of 'their horse' each day. Through discussion periods and practical experience participants will learn about:

• The Proper Use and Care of Tack and Riding Equipment

• Treating an Injured Horse

• Shoeing

• Fox Hunting

• Horse Showing.

Arts and Crafts

Campers also participate in an extensive Arts and Crafts program which includes many creative activities including creating a scrapbook, building floats, and writing camp songs, among other things.

 

 

Required Items

Campers are expected bring the items listed below to camp each day. **All of the riding accessories can be purchased at the Fox Heath Saddlery at a 10% discount.**

• Hard Hat

• Riding Crop

• Riding Boots (or flat soled shoes with heels)

• Riding Pants (or jeans)

• Lunch (sodas are available for purchase)

• Bathing Suit and Towel

Schedule

Summer Camp runs daily (Monday through Friday) from 9am to 3pm.  Camp begins on June 23rd and runs for the following four consecutive two week sessions:

• June 23 - July 4

• July 7 - July 18

• July 21 - August 1

• August 4 - August 15

Tuition Fees

Camp tuition is $600 per session if the application is received before June 1. The tuition is $625 if it is received on or after June 1. A minimum, non-refundable deposit of $50 camper, per session is required upon registration. To guarantee a reservation in the session(s) of your choice, an early application is suggested. Enrollment is limited.

Adult Equitation Day Camp

The Adult Summer Camp runs daily (Monday through Friday) from 9am to 3pm.  Camp begins on June 16th and runs for one week.  Camp tuition is $325, if the application is received before June 1. The tuition is $350 if it is received on or after June 1. A minimum, non-refundable deposit of $50 camper is required upon registration. To guarantee a reservation, an early application is suggested. Enrollment is limited.
